Have you ever reacted in a way you wish you hadn’t? Have you ever given a compliment that you didn’t mean? Have you ever been in a situation where you’d think of doing one thing, but you would be doing another?
Do you not realize that others could be doing the very same thing? A lot of these things show more about the person giving the compliment, criticizing something or someone, or downright insulting someone than the person actually receiving it.
Don’t let insults deter you. Don’t let criticism get you down, neither let the compliments get you high. You are who you are, no matter what people think. If you are a scumbag, chances are, you already know. Even if you don’t accept it, somewhere inside you, there is a very big pointer towards the fact that you may be a scumbag. That you may be fake. That you may be a bully. That you may be whatever it is you aren’t willing to accept.
Accept it. Understand who you are, not what others think you are. Because when it comes down to it, when the big bad wolf, the antagonist, the problem comes up, how many people like you, or how many people you’ve put down won’t help you, but it will be only you, and who you really are that will help you.
